Ever since their Union Hall show I’ve been listening to Ravens & Chimes debut album Reichenbach Falls. In alot of ways it’s what I’ve been looking for all year. Initially I heard a nice, if somewhat generic indie-pop band. R&C; are in the Arcade Fire school of thought, using every instrument they can find. This causes the album to have a fun, lush sound but they’re not only kids in Brooklyn with a glockenspiel. What sets the album apart is how well the songs fit together. Instead of being a handful of breakout blog hits packaged with some filler Reichenbach Falls comes across as a well-crafted album smoothly transitioning from mood to mood.
