It’s funny to think about how one of the biggest and well known hardcore bands around today started as a side project. Before Boston’s hardcore band Bane became the behemoth (fuck yeah alliteration) that they are now, they started as a side project from one of the guys in Converge (who was later asked to quit due to his dedication to Bane).
Holding This Moment was the first major release by Bane, an 8 song album consisting of all their early 7-inches, and it fucking rules. Released back in 1998 when the music scene started to become dominated by metalcore and screamo bands, Bane along with other Boston bands (American Nightmare, Ten Yard Fight) brought good ole fashioned stage diving and mic grabbing to the forefront of hardcore once again.
If you like hardcore at all, get this album.
